EVENT DESCRIPTION

This year’s institute will help professors build Super Courses that create an exciting environment for everyone, or employ Small Teaching models or both. Both James Lang, author of Distracted: Why Students Can't Focus and What You Can Do About It and Small Teaching: Everyday Lessons from the Science of Learning 2nd Edition, and Ken Bain and Marsha Marshall Bain, authors of the exciting new book from Princeton University Press, Super Courses: The Future of Teaching and Learning, and the classic work from Harvard University Press, What the Best College Teachers Do will lead the program. They will be joined by some of the most successful and innovative university professors in the world who will help you explore the creation of natural critical learning environments, using cutting edge research on human learning. Included will be Eric Mazur (physics, Harvard); and Charlie Cannon (Design, RISD), among others.

All programs will be highly interactive, modeling active and dynamic learning in boldly collaborative sessions. Participants will build their own Super Courses—on campus, on line or anywhere—with lots of support and without losing their minds, and the Small Teaching techniques that the science of learning supports.

We anticipate based on past years that admission to the program will be highly competitive and enrollment is limited, but you will already have your ticket to ride.

If you must cancel entirely before May 1, you will receive a full tuition refund.
